Our Program

The school year for preschoolers runs September to June. Our Preschool observes the same common dismissal and holidays as St. Luke School.

Emmeline Preschool's goal is to provide a stimulating, warm environment where each child feels welcome and special. The Preschool's program aims to provide a healthy balance between enriching social experiences and an academic curriculum.
The program is based on the Play and Exploration: Early Learning Program Guide (Government of Saskatchewan Ministry of Education.) The program provides opportunities for children to develop their social emotional, physical, spiritual and intellectual skills in a play based, literacy enriched environment

**PDF PRESCHOOL REGISTRATION FORMS**

Emmeline Preschool accepts registrations through out the school year.

The program addresses "whole child" development by providing experiences in these content areas:
Literacy - Vocabulary and language, phonological awareness, letters, comprehension, knowledge of print, literacy as a source of enjoyment
Mathematics - Number concepts, patterns and relationships, geometry and spatial sense, measurement, data collection and representation
Science - The physical properties of objects, living things, and the earth and environment
Arts - Music, dance, dramatic play, drawing, painting, crafts
Social and Emotional - Sense of self, responsibility for self and others, pro social behavior

The context in which children will experience the above will vary between center based hands-on activities and teacher led interactive group activities. Some of the learning centers that exist in the classroom and how they promote development are:

Sensory Table – fine motor development, engages inquiry and exploration
